This is the routine I like to use, and I admit that I took most of this from the media specialist after watching her teach a class. Small children will pick up on the routine after just a few classes and your year will be much smoother. Using that knowledge, create a class format andstick with it. Just as you might bring in a social studies element or read a book to extend a lesson with you K-5 students, you can bring in extra curriculars to pre k.Īs you know, children love consistency. It’s really great stuff to enhance your lesson. And there are a ton! Really amazing resources with recipes, songs, rhymes and “science experiments”. I recommend that art teachers dip into the vast world of preschool blogs. However, if you have longer time slots, I will give you some ideas on how to use it wisely! ![]() ![]() My classes are 30 min long, which I find is the perfect amount of time to discuss an idea, explore it with art materials and have clean up time.
